MY PERSONAL MISSION
To act as the Ambassador of AUGUST WILSON'S TO THE WORLD after achieving the distinction of being the first and ONLY actor to have performed in ALL TEN PLAYS in the American Century Cycle AND the one man show, HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED by August Wilson, co-conceived with Todd Kreidler. I hope to perform the show all over the world, promoting the work of August Wilson.
King Hedley the II
In the role of Elmore, Wali Jamal shines as the hustle from down South with a secret to unload. By August Wilson. Produced at Daisy Wilson House on Bedford Avenue, in Pittsburgh's Hill District where August grew up.
Rules of Seconds
By John Collono
Barebones Productions presents this play of toxic masculinity gone wild in this 19th century epic, with Wali Jamal playing a duel role as and English second and a Caribbean Coachman.
Of King Hedley the II: "Watching Wali Jamal is like watching a magician work. He carries an aura, everything he says is part of a stunt, the subtext, the trick. He's so good his performance feels like its pulling one over on you, so for him to play the hustler Elmore gives so much resonant justice to the role."
- Jason Clearfield, Pgh in the Round
Boy Willie/Piano Lesson These Big Ol Hands
